Darts Rules

The 2023 Winter Season of darts will consist of ten (10) weeks beginning January 9th.  Each team will be scheduled to play five home matches and five road matches

Definitions:

  • Match: As stated each team plays ten matches.  All matches are scheduled for six rounds.  There are 21 points up for grabs each week.  All six rounds are played regardless of outcome as your weekly score is based off of 21 points (ex: 19-2 win, 7-14 loss).
  • Round: A round is a group of games (ex: third round is a 601 triples game; round five consists of two cricket doubles games).
  • Game: All games are either cricket or 01.  There are different varients of 01 (ex: 301 double out; 501 double in/double out).  The scoresheet lists the games and order in which they should be played.

Rules:

  • Players can only play once in a round.
  • Players can only play a max of five times in the match (waived if you have fewer than five players)
  • If you have five players: everyone has to play a 601 game with one person playing both 601 games.  Players cannot play in more than five rounds during the night.  This is intended to clarify the language in the rules as previously stated regarding 601 eligibility.  If you have six players-each player is to play in one of the two 601 matches.  If you have more than six players no one is permitted to play in more than one 601 match each week.  If you have four players: each player must play in at least one of the two 601 matches.  (clarification of the 601 rules 11/8/24)
  • Players must play at least two games to participate in the match in order to count towards playoff eligibility (see below)
  • There is no minimum number of players needed to hold a match (aka avoiding a forfeit).  Please note that you can play short if you do not have four players

Scorekeeping

  • The home team shall provide an electronic device for purposes of scorekeeping via Dartconnect.
  • The scorekeeper shall not coach the shooter. (ex: if your teammate is shooting and has 51 left, you should not yell out single 19, double 16)
  • The scorekeeper may verify what number was shot at the request of either player.

Scoresheets

  • All teams are expected to bring a scoresheet to each match.  Scoresheets have been left with the bar in envelopes for each team prior to the season
  • Prior to each round one player from each team will exchange lineups for the round.  Teams are prohibited from changing the names/position of any player once it has been exchanged.  (ex: three minutes after exchanging names for a round, a team can not come back and try to alter their lineup by changing a name or moving a player around in the round)

Drop/Add:

  • All teams can add players to their roster at any time prior to week five.
  • in order to participate in the playoffs, a player must play at least five weeks during the regular season.  An appearance is a minimum two games in the match.

Playoffs:

  • There are four divisions of eight teams.  Each division has its own post season.  The playoffs consist of the top four teams.  Standings are determined based on overall points.  The first tiebreaker is weeks won.  The second is head to head.  In the playoffs, the top seed hosts the fourth seed; the second seed hosts the third seed.
  • A playoff win is the first team to score 15 team points.
  • In the event neither teams have 15 points at the end of six rounds the match will extend to a seventh and eighth round, if applicable.  Round seven will be two double 01 games and round eight will be two doubles cricket games.  The match ends when one team has or exceeds 15 points.

Forfeits:

  • In the event a team requests a reschedule it is up to the non-forfeiting team as to when they play, if at all.  A forfeit win results in 15 points for the week.  The team that forfeits recieves no points.
  • If there is a rescheduled match it must be played at the originally scheduled bar.

Player Behavior:

All players are expected to behave in an adult manner.  Please understand that aggressive and immaure behavior is unacceptable and may result in a dismissal from the league.

All Star Points:

All Star points are based on individual stats as follows:
  • In 01 it’s any round of 95 or above. Or an 80 or more doubling in or out. In cricket it’s a 5 hit round or higher with each hit worth 20. So a 6 hit round is worth 120 AS points.
  • A round of 3 bulls or more is AS. 3 bulls is 120, and add 20 for each addtl bull in the round. So a 4 bulls round is 140 points.
  • The all star list posted each week is the total of someone’s all star rounds from that week. So if you had a cricket round where you had 5 hits and in another game of 01 you hit a 100, you’d have 200 all star points for the night.

Start time: All matches start at 7:30PM.  The home team is responsible for all scorekeeping.  Please note that the league uses Dartconnect.  All teams and players have been entered into the system.  All players who have provided the league with their email will have guest access on the app free of charge.  A reminder to close out of dartconnect and the end of the night.s
